Terms of Use
The rules for using Park Ridge Furnace Repair, a free service that connects people in Park Ridge, IL and nearby northwest suburbs with independent heating companies.
This website is owned and operated by Joe McGregor. Last updated November 8, 2026.
What this service is
Park Ridge Furnace Repair is a referral service. It passes your request to independent heating, furnace and HVAC companies that serve your area. It is not a heating company or a contractor, and it does not diagnose, repair, install, service or inspect anything. The words “Furnace Repair” are part of the name, not a description of work the site performs or a claim of expertise.
Gas smells and carbon monoxide
If you smell gas, leave right away and don't use phones, switches or anything that could spark. Once you're outside and a safe distance away, call Nicor Gas at 888-642-6748 or 911. Don't try to find or stop the leak yourself. In Edison Park or Norwood Park (City of Chicago), leave and call Peoples Gas at 866-556-6002 or 911 from a safe place. If a CO alarm sounds or anyone feels sick, get everyone outside and call 911. Don't use the quote form or the site's phone number for a gas or CO emergency.
Free, with no obligation
Requesting quotes is free. You are never obligated to hire any company that contacts you. Companies may pay Park Ridge Furnace Repair for the requests or calls they receive. The site does not rank or endorse companies. Companies reply on their own schedules; in a no-heat emergency, also call a company directly. Calls to the site's toll-free number are routed through a call-routing provider to an independent company.
The companies are independent
Companies that contact you are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Park Ridge Furnace Repair. Any estimate, contract, permit, warranty or rebate filing is between you and the company you choose. The site does not check registrations, insurance or workmanship and cannot promise that any company holds a particular registration or license.
- Illinois doesn't issue a statewide HVAC license; towns set their own rules. In Park Ridge, contractors register with the City each year and must carry required insurance. In Chicago, most permitted building work needs a City general contractor license. Ask for proof of registration and insurance.
- Park Ridge's permit fee schedule lists a permit for furnace and boiler replacement. Your contractor confirms and pulls it with the City (847-318-5291). Other towns: check with the village's building department.
- In Illinois, a home repair contractor must give you a written contract before starting work over $1,000, plus the state pamphlet “Home Repair: Know Your Consumer Rights.” Questions or problems: Illinois Attorney General, 1-800-386-5438.
- If you sign a contract at home, you may have three business days to cancel, but repairs you asked for and emergency work may not qualify.
